Wellbeing and Home Interiors

Since starting my new venture into interior design back in February this year, I've been putting my energy into writing blogs that I hope would be helpful to you.  Writing content that resonates with you in your home and property businesses.

Throughout August, I have been preparing for my other passion project: Business in Bewdley BiB networking.  This month we have a Physical and Mental Health focused event and we are going to be Netwalking along the River in Bewdley. The whole emphasis of this is to help Entrepreneurs, freelancers and small business owners improve their Wellness. (Let me know if you want to join us)

It's got me thinking about the fact that there is a whole other side to me, that you may not be aware of.  Over 10 years ago I left the Corporate World of Social Housing following Burnout.  It's a long story, yet since then I have gone on to achieve lots of great things, namely I wrote a selfhelp book #BurnouttoBold; in the hope it would help others and over the subsequent years I ran my own business,  after achieving an Entrepreneurship degree at one of the top Universities in this Country & it'sin our County; Worcestershire University.

Advance your Wellbeing was my business, providing bespoke training to other Housing professionals. More specifically focusing in on creating Emotional intelligent teams and improving cultures.

The Wellbeing of others has been at the heart of what I do, so now 6 months down the line since starting Country Interior Design by MJ, I thought it would be great to share this personal blog on Wellbeing and Interior Design.

Our homes are our sanctuary, it's a place of safety, it's where the majority of our most treasured memories are created.  This leads me to ask you, whether you believe that your home environment can improve your Wellbeing? Yes sure, if you have a certain Physical disability, then of course from a functional perspective your home will improve your Wellness, if designed appropriately.  I'm thinking more on a deeper level.  Does your current interiors inspire you to be the person you want to be & can be? Does the atmosphere energise or relax you? Does the layout around your home flow seamlessly from one room to another?

I'm not suggesting that you need to go full Bohemian or Biophillic on your interior, (these are just two interior design styles that you could associate with Wellbeing and a sense of freedom & nature).

The sense of Wellness is different for everyone that's what makes you unique, it's like suggesting that you need to install a Gym to improve your health and Wellbeing, You can be as fit as a fiddle, but does this mean you are physically and mentally well? Wellbeing and happiness is far more complex than that.

I'd suggest that everyone wants to find happiness in their lives and our homes or where we live can be a conduit to improving our wellbeing.

Interior design if done sensitively, can go a long way to helping us, feel inspired, motivated and happy.  It's not my place as an interior designer to say what this looks like, just that as an interior designer, we are here to help you interpret your desires and dreams & help you to achieve the home that can improve your whole sense of Wellbeing.

I'd welcome the opportunity to work with you on your next interior design project, whether you're refreshing your current home, moving house or have a property business that will of course involve people into the heart of what you do.
