Country interior Design Blog ; Introduction & Spring Fair 2026.

 We are launching our first Country interior design by MJ blog with a warm welcome. 

MJ, has a flair for interior design and in these weekly blogs, she shares her journey on building a Interior design business, along with her ID study journey while completing her second degree ( her first was in Entrepreneurship) and her take & views as to what is happening in the interior design space and the industry as a whole. 

MJ, has worked in Housing all of her career and after serving the Social Housing sector & Corporate world, she has decided to take a change in direction and design homes & boutique hotels that ooze class, opulence and charm. 

Country interior design by MJ was conceived as 2026 began & since then MJ, has launched herself in to this passion project utilising her business knowledge and her design experience in creating over 100 different room designs in her own homes. During Lockdown Mj Undertook & project managed a full house renovation, which included larger works as well as interior design. 

MJ has a distinct ID Style which is a combination of Classic, Victorian, Nature and Shabby Chic and Antique. 

She enjoys nothing more than to see a room or space & create a vision that clients will love.  

Spring Fair 2026

Just the other week MJ visited the Spring Fair at the NEC, near Birmingham. Will it is a trade show, it has a whole Hall dedicated to interior design, it's actually an interior designers paradise with oodles of interior design inspiration. 

So who stood out for MJ? Here are her standout exhibitors .

MJ has a specific style that she felt were echoed in her ID Style:

Otter Brook Collection 

They offer showroom appointments and their stand was filled with sumptuous and elegant designs.  The unique bar design pieces; cabinetry and table solutions were exquisite. 

Coach House 

While they offered more earthy tones ( something MJ will cover in her Trends for 2026, blog), which is not MJ's particular favourite colour palettes, she did feel that their lighting selection were pure decadence. 

Extraordinary home furnishings and more. 

The Knight Shop

Suppliers of militaria and historic giftware.  From customised coats of arms shields and decorative pieces to a full 6ft Knights suit of Armour. 

Forever England 

This company gave cosiness and luxury with their full range of home furnishings: cushions, coverlets and bedding in exquisite fabrics and patterns. 

Quirky Barn

They had a whimsical and unique selection of hand painted furniture similar to Ember Homes store in Leamington Spa including a huge array of room accessories. 

Gallery Direct 

They had lighting you could fall in love with.  Classic, Elegant and design superiority. 

Country interior design by MJ offers a range of services from room reviews to full project managed interior design projects.  Including seasonal & celebratory design projects.  

When she came across Oceanex, she instantly understood that her clients would delight in learning more about their pop up bar Solutions. They had a wonderful champagne bar, all MJ needed was a glass & strawberries. It took her back to times at the Cheltenham Festival in the Champagne bar.  What an excellent idea for a Summer garden party.

I'm absolutely thrilled that Decorex London returns next week.  Are you going to be visiting?
